It is the final Friday of October, which means Halloween is coming up quite soon, so we can expect spooky and scary news before long, but this week does not have too much of it. The first piece of news we have comes from Devolver Digital and developer System Era Softworks as the release date for Astroneer's first DLC, Glitchwalkers, has been announced. This survival sandbox experience will be expanded Glitchwalkers with the addition of the largest planet in the game, Aeoluz, featuring new biomes, technologies, and gameplay features. It also brings the first true villain of the game, Lyn, and the return of Storms in both the new content and the base game, though Glitched Storms will require you ensure you are not hacked, if you want to succeed at your mission.
Astorneer's Glitchwalker DLC is releasing on November 13 for OC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Xbox Series X/S.

Dotemu and developer Leikir Studio announced the release date for Metal Slug Tactics this week, so we know when we can enter this grid-based tactical adaption of the classic run-and-gun franchise. Naturally the announcement is paired with a new trailer, which debuts three additional playable characters: Clark Still; Ralf Jones; and Leona Heidern. Clark Still comes from the Ikari Warriors series and was playable in Metal Slug 6, and here his strength and wrestling experience makes him a tank capable of moving enemies around the map. Ralf Jones is a short-range combat specialist with powerful punches and the ability to charge at enemies like a raging bull. He too is from the Ikari Warriors series and was playable in Metal Slug 6. Leona Heidern is a newer addition to the Ikari Warriors and has some interesting capabilities, as she can replace fallen enemies with decoy allies. She can also distract enemies and overwhelm their force with her unique approach to dominating the arena.
Metal Slug Tactics is to release on November 5 for PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch. We can expect news on a physical release in the future, for those dedicated fans of the franchise.

GOG announced Croc Legend of the Gobbos is coming to its DRM-free storefront. Originally released in 1997, you play as a little crocodile with his backpack as he sets off to rescue the Gobbos from Baron Dante, an evil sorcerer with an army of Dantinis. Though we do not have a date for its release yet, the purchase will get you both the classic version of the game and its remaster, and like all GOG games they have been updated to work on modern hardware and operating systems.

Entropy Survivors from First Break Labs and developer Moving Pieces Interactive released a new trailer this week, showcasing the game's class system. In the game you play Froggy and GERM, partners in combat with the former being a gunslinging amphibian and the latter the samurai mech Froggy rides around on. While this pairing already offers versatility, the classes the game provides expand on this with special abilities that might be exactly what you need to succeed. For example, the Jet class will allow you to take the skies and become invulnerable to enemies as you mow them down, at least for as long as you can keep flying thanks to mid-flight refueling via supply drops. As the Enchanter you can call upon magic sigils to boost the damage of friendly projectiles, freeze enemies, heal allies, and improve their reload speeds too.
Entropy Survivors releases December 5 on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5.

Rebellion has revealed the launch date of Sniper Elite: Resistance and opened pre-orders for this next game in the franchise. Play as Harry Hawker, an agent of the Special Operations Executive as he learns of a new Wunderwaffe that must be stopped, as its power will guarantee a Nazi victory. It is a standalone adventure, focusing on the hidden war that was fought far from the front lines, deep within occupied France, with its events running parallel to those of Sniper Elite 5. While many of the game mechanics are exactly as one should expect for the Sniper Elite series, it also introduces features, such as Propaganda Missions, a new kind of side mission unlocked by unique propaganda posters that have you play as a resistance fighter.
Sniper Elite: Resistance is to release on January 30, 2025 for PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5.

Originally launched last year in Warsaw, by bringing the program to the USA as well, the company hopes to increase the number of players they can engage with, including at early stages of development. In-person testing sessions will be held in Boston, Massachusetts but there are also online sessions you can take part in. You do have to be at least 16 years old though, and not professionally involved in game development. Besides the opportunity to provide your opinions to the developer on its upcoming projects, you will also be rewarded with exclusive loot.
