She attended Sweetwater schools. She moved to Abilene from Odessa in 1957. She was a housewife. Survivors include her husband: three sons, Charles of 5107 Lamesa, David of Abilene and Kenney Ray of Route 1, Merkel; a daughter, Merlene of Abilene; her parents, Mr. and Mrs.

J.L. Wiley of Abilene; a sister, Mrs. Joy Ann Ellis of Abilene; and seven grandchildren. Frank Richards Frank J. Richards, 86, of Route 3, Abilene, died at 4:30 a.m.

Sunday at Hendrick Medical Center. Services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Caps Baptist Church, directed by Mabene Allen Funeral Home. The Revs. Kenneth Jones and Jerry Held will officiate.

Burial will be in Eimwood Memorial Park. Born Feb. 23, 1894, in Hays County, be was a retired farmer and rancher. He was a member of Caps Baptist Church. He married Lula South Sept.

1, 1917, in Abilene. He moved from Matindale to Abilene in 1906. He was a veteran of World War I. Survivors include his wife, Lula: two daughtersin-law, Virgina Richards of 5701 Buffalo Gap Road and Mildred Richards of 617 Westwood; two sisters, Marie Chase of Artesia, N.M., and Mrs. W.J.

Raynes of 234 Oxford: three brothers, George of Newcastle and Earl and Cash, both of Rowena; five grandchildren; and nine greatgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons, Frank, who died in 1962, and Marvin, who died in 1975. Ennis Hollingshead AUSTIN Ennis E. Hollingshead, 87, of Austin, a former employee of Citizens National Bank in Abilene for 40 years, died at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in his home of natural causes.

Services were to be at 2 p.m. Monday at Sunset Memorial Funeral Chapel in San Antonio. Burial was to be in Sunset Memorial Park. Born Feb. 7, 1893, in Amity, he moved to Taylor County as a child.

He and his parents lived in Potosi, Eula and Clyde before moving to Abilene. He graduated from high school in Clyde and attended Britton's Training School (now Cisco Junior College), Howard Payne University and HardinSimmons University. He married Ruth Holmes June 10, 1921, in Abilene. Mr. Hollingshead joined Citizens National Bank as a bookkeeper in 1919, later serving as assistant cashier.

He was the treasuer of the Taylor County Chapter of the American Red Cross from 1932 to 1945. He was a World War I Navy veteran. He was a member of First Baptist Church in San Antonio. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Mrs. H.

M. Ritchie and Mrs. W.G. Broyles, both of Austin; three brothers, Truett of Abilene, Ward of Arlington and Joe of San Antonio; four sisters, 0 D. Courtney Hoilingshead, and Mrs.

Stewart Cooper, all of Abilene, and Mrs. Ted Calloway of Brownwood; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Mrs. H.E. White Mrs.

Mitt Williams, former Penney's manager, dead Mitt Williams, 84, of Wichita Falls, longtime manager of JC Penney's in Abilene, died Sunday in a Wichita Falls hospital after a lengthy illness. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at HamptonVaughan Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m.

at Cedar Hill Cemetery Abilene. Born Aug. 31, 1895, in Monroe County, he moved to Texas with his family when he was 8. His father and grandfather were both merchants. I He began his career of "waiting on the public" when he was 8 by working for his father after school.

He attended North Texas State Teachers College (now North Texas State University) in Denton and taught school for two years. He served in the Army during World War serving 16 months. He joined the JC Penney organization in 1928 in Cisco as assistant manager. In 1932 he became store manager, and three years later he became manager of the Kingsville store for five years. He became manager of the Abilene 1941.

Mr. Williams recalled the fast-moving days of Camp Barkeley in an interview with a reporter in 1955. He said approximately 160 different women had worked in the Abilene store over a period of three to four years. Most of the women were wives of men stationed at Camp Barkeley and had worked for Penney stores in their hometowns before coming to Abilene. Williams said he tried to place them in the same department they had worked in before, and thus was able to maintain experienced personnel.

MITT WILLIAMS 1955 photo He succeeded J.L. Rhodes as manager of the Abilene store. He married Mary Smith in 1923. She preceded him in death. They moved to Abilene shortly after their marriage, bringing with them Mrs.

Williams parents, Mr. and Mrs. R.F. Smith, and Mr. and Mrs.

W.D. Williams. Mr. Williams' father had retired from the mercantile business and moved to Abilene from Electra. Mr.

Williams later married his present wife. Mr. Williams retired from JC Penney in 1956 after being with the company for 24 years. He moved to Wichita Fails in 1957. Mr.

Williams was a nephew of the late George Knight of Abilene. He was a member of the Church of Christ. He was a former member of the Abilene Chamber of Commerce and Lions Club. Survivors include his wife, Jewel; and a nephew. C.D.

Knight of Wichita Falls. Police Report Burglar breaks into Graham Central Station A burglar alarm went off at Graham Central Station, 1850 S. Clack, early Sunday morning but the culprit was gone when police arrived, according to a police report. The thief entered the building by cutting through a fence surrounding the air conditioning system and climbing through an air conditioning duct. The burlgar alarm apparently went off when the vent screen was kicked out, police said.

Beating victim remains in serious condition Arthur Bunker, 41, of 6101 S. Seventh, Lot 47, remained in serious condition in the intensive care unit of Hendrick Medical Center this morning, a nursing supervisor said today. Police have been unable to talk with Bunker yet to determine how he received extensive head injuries Wednesday night in the parking lot of Friar Tuck's on Arnold Boulevard, detective Jim Becker said today. Robbery has been ruled out because Bunker's billfold and $200 were not disturbed, police said. Becker said he has talked with all the patrons known to be at the club the night Bunker was hurt and, that none of them recall seeing or hearing anything.

Burglar frightened away when woman checks noise A burglar was apparently frightened away by a woman who got up to check on a strange noise about 11:30 p.m. Sunday, police said. Ermila Hernandez of 1418 Green St. told police the noise was coming from outside her children's bedroom. She said when she got up the noise stopped.

Born Doris Hardy July 18, 1902, in Opelika, she moved with her parents to Cisco at an early age. She married Ambrose Spencer, June 6, 1928, in Anson. He was in the lumber business in Anson until 1932.

They moved from Anson in 1932 and lived in several East Texas communities until moving to Hamlin in 1941 and to Stamford in 1965. Mr. Spencer was associated with R.B. Spencer and Co. for 44 years.

Mrs. Spencer was a member of First Baptist Church in Stamford and active in church-related work. Survivors include her husband; a son, James T. of Lubbock; two sisters, Mrs. Ernest (Maude) Pittman of Anson and Mrs.

Guy (Gladys) Carter of Granbury; and two grandchildren. Nephews will be pallbearers. The body will be at Lawrence Funeral Home in Anson Monday night, and will be at the church from 9:30 a.m. Tuesday until service time. 24, 1971. He married Janie Smith April: 21, 1972, in Big Spring. He was an active member of First Baptist Church and had served as a deacon for more than 40 years. He was past president and a charter member of the American Business Club. He was president of the Big Spring Chamber of Commerce in 1962.

He had been a member of the Masonic Lodge for more than 60 years, a member of the Dallas Scottish Rites and the Suez Shrine Temple of San Angelo. Survivors include his wife; a stepdaughter, BerMary Cataldo of Madison, a brother, Edgar of Nashville, a sister, Irene Bissell of Nashville, three stepgrandchildren; a stepgreat-grandchild; and a number of nieces and nephews.
